The short passage „And honey upon hawthorn grows“ is taken from the song “A proper new Ballet called the summons to Newe England” describing the plentytude of New England in the migration era at around 1660. “THERE MILK FROM SPRINGS, LIKE RIVERS FLOWS / AND HONEY UPON HAWTHORN GROWS …” A summons to a promised land, where the terrain is ideal, the grounds are always fruitful and nature produces automatically.
